Welcome to WordCards — Learn Languages. We built WordCards to help you learn languages through flashcards, practice, and progress tracking — on iPhone, iPad, and Android.

We respect your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using WordCards, you agree to this policy. Please also read our Terms of Use, which govern your use of the app.

We collect information that helps us provide and improve WordCards. This may include:

• Account information — such as your name and email address when you create an account.
• Email address — used for sign-in, account recovery, and important service messages.
• Learning progress — lessons completed, levels, streaks, scores, and study activity.
• Saved vocabulary — words, lists, and custom entries you add for practice.
• Device and app information — device type, operating system, app version, and general technical data needed to run the app reliably.
• Usage statistics — how you interact with features (e.g., sessions, screens viewed) to improve the experience.
• Subscription status — whether you have an active premium plan. Payment details are handled by Apple or Google; we do not receive your full card information.
• Optional voice or audio features — if you use pronunciation or recording tools, related audio may be processed to provide that feature. You can choose not to use these features.

We use your information for clear, legitimate purposes, including to:

• Operate the app — create and manage your account, sync progress, and deliver core learning features.
• Save your progress — so you can continue learning across sessions and devices where supported.
• Personalize learning — adapt content and recommendations based on your level and activity.
• Improve our service — understand how features are used and fix issues.
• Manage subscriptions — verify premium access through app store billing systems.
• Keep WordCards secure — detect abuse, fraud, and unauthorized access.
• Provide customer support — respond to your questions and requests.
• Analytics — use aggregated or pseudonymized insights to improve performance and usability.

WordCards relies on trusted partners to operate. These may include:

• Payment providers — Apple App Store and Google Play process in-app purchases and subscriptions.
• Hosting services — to store data and run the app securely.
• Analytics providers — to help us understand app performance and usage in a responsible way.

Each partner processes data under their own terms and privacy policies. We choose providers that support secure, reliable service delivery.

We may share limited data only when necessary:

• Service providers — who help us host, operate, analyze, or support WordCards, under confidentiality obligations.
• App stores — Apple and Google for purchase and subscription management.
• Legal requirements — when required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and security.

We keep your personal data while your account is active and as needed to provide WordCards.

When you request account deletion, or when we no longer need the data for the purposes described in this policy, we will delete or anonymize your information within a reasonable period — except where we must retain certain records for legal, security, or dispute-resolution purposes.

Backup copies may take additional time to be removed from our systems.

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect your information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.

No method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure. While we work hard to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including the right to:

• Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correction — ask us to update inaccurate or incomplete information.
• Deletion — request deletion of your account and associated data.
• Withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.

We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe as required by applicable law.

WordCards is not directed at children under 13 years of age (or the minimum age required in your country to consent to data processing without parental approval).

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will take steps to delete that information.

WordCards is available in multiple countries. Your information may be processed and stored in locations where we or our service providers operate, which may be different from your country of residence.

Where required, we take steps to ensure appropriate protections are in place for cross-border data transfers.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, the app, or legal requirements.

When we make material changes, we will notify you through the app, by email, or by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

Continued use of WordCards after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.

WordCards and this Privacy Policy are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:

• We make no warranties that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or meet every expectation.
• We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of WordCards or reliance on this policy.
• Our total liability for claims related to privacy or data handling will not exceed the amount you paid us for subscriptions in the twelve (12) months before the claim, or the minimum amount required by law — whichever is greater.
